Wooddale Avenue Bike Lanes
On June 2, 2026, city staff uploaded the final design options for the Wooddale Avenue bike lanes. Of the five options presented, we strongly favor Options 2B or 2C, which feature two-way bike lanes separated from car traffic by flexible bollards. Alternatively, Option 1 is a viable alternative if bollards are added from Wooddale Ave to 56th Street. City Council will review these options at its July 21 meeting. Please consider advocating for Options 2B or 2C by emailing City Council, attending the City Council meeting on June 16 at 7:00 PM to speak during Community Comment, and/or writing a letter to the editor of the Edina Sun Current. Further information on these advocacy steps can be found here.

Option 2B: Two-Way Bike Lane, East Side, No Parking
In 2027, the city will reconstruct Interlachen Boulevard from Blake Road to Mirror Lakes Drive. The city's Capital Improvement Plan states that this project will include a shared use path for bikes and pedestrians. We believe that a shared use path puts cyclists and pedestrians in conflict. Rather than a shared use path, Interlachen should have a sidewalk and a protected bike lane. According to the project's website, the final design will be complete in November 2026 and a public hearing will take place in December 2026. Early input is critical to ensuring our voices are heard. Please consider advocating for a protected bike lane on interlachen by emailing Chad Milner, Public Works Director & City Engineer, and Andrew Scipioni, Transportation Planner.
