LWV Candidate Forum Recap
City Council Candidate Forum
Speaking of the city council race the League of Women Voters hosted a city council candidate forum on September 10. The candidates were asked how the city should improve bike and pedestrian infrastructure in the city (a question we submitted). You can watch the candidate responses here.
In short, this forum further proved that Kate Agnew and Patrick Gage are the best candidates to champion an All Ages & Abilities network in our city. Here are the highlights:
Kate Agnew: "I do really believe that pedestrian and bicycle safety is paramount to our our framework as a community." The Pedestrian & Bike Master Plan "is incredibly important to me."
Patrick Gage: "I am committed to making sure that we have the right infrastructure to keep pedestrians and bikers of all ages safe throughout the city . . . ."
Scott Housh: Expressed support for the City Council's decision not to add protected bike lanes on Wooddale Avenue.
Jason Kalenborn: Indicated that biking and walking are generally important to our community.
Alicia Gibson: Stated that the City Council's decision to widen the one-way bike lane on Wooddale a few feet instead of adding protected bike lanes on both sides of the road was "a great compromise."
Best,
